Recycling Opportunities

There are several opportunities to Recycle with this year's Green Run. Check out below how you can help keep our city Green!

Donate good, gently used children's shoes, men's and women's athletic shoes, and men's dress shoes.

In the Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Metropolitan Area, shoes are distributed to people in need through homeless shelters, shelters for battered women and their children, refugee service organizations and hospitals.

Library Friends greatly appreciate donations of clean, gently used books, audio books, DVDs and magazines. The Friends use these donations to stock the Book Closet and to sell during the Annual May Book Sale and Country Day on the Hill Paperback Sale.

ALL monies earned are used to support the Library. Please assist the Library Friends by donating your items.

If you have used eyeglasses you no longer need, you can donate them now. Lions Club will be accepting prescription and reading glasses, sunglasses and plastic and metal frames at this year's Green Run.

Children's glasses are especially needed.  Volunteers will take your eyeglasses, clean them, sort them by prescription strength and package the glasses. The recycled glasses are then distributed to people in need.

Green Team

Cedar Valley College Green Team collects old cell phones, Ipods, Printer and ink cartridges for their Funding Factory Project. These items are sent to Recycle to Eradicate Poverty which gives people everywhere a chance to help change lives by recycling used cell phones/PDAs and ink jet cartridges.

Something you no longer use can change somebody else's life, for good!  Bring your old cell phones, Ipods, Printer and ink cartridges to participate in recyclying with the Cedar Valley Green Team for their Funding Factory Project.

Help the Cedar Hill Food Pantry feed Cedar Hill families by donating Canned and boxed goods.  With your donations, Cedar Hill families are able to eat.  The food pantry takes 15,000 items of food every month to feed your neighbors.  Help share the bread by bringing your canned and boxed food items for the Cedar Hill Food Pantry.

Help Bridges Safehouse build bridges from homelessness to stability.  Donate toilet paper and paper towels as well as new and gently used clothing.  Donated clothing will be sold out of  the Bridges Thrifty Boutique and all proceeds will fund the efforts of Bridges Safehouse, providing safe shelter and nuturing support for women and their children during an immediate time of need.
